Come spend Spring Break with the Wild boys of the West!

The Phoenix boys of Leather will be hosting the first Annual Western boy Run in sunny Phoenix, Arizona the weekend of March 19, 2004.

The Western boy Run was designed to provide a chance for boys and their admirers from the western United States a chance to gather, learn, socialize and most importantly have fun! The event will rotate amongst the participating boy groups each year giving each group the chance to show the best their city has to offer.

The weekend will feature pool parties, games, a sleep-over, and demos. Each participating boy group is being invited to host a game during the weekend.

March is a beautiful time of year in Phoenix and will be a welcome break from the end of winter chills in the rest of the nation.

Just Because Food Drive for Joshua Tree

The Phoenix boys of Leather will be coordinating the “JUST BECAUSE” food drive to collect non-perishable items for the Joshua Tree Feeding Program from September 18th, 2004 though October 16th, 2004.

Every year the valley comes together during the holidays to donate millions of canned food items for the various agencies in Phoenix, but it is at this time of year that the food banks are at their lowest. The Phoenix boys of Leather will be placing collection boxes in various Valley bars and businesses to help replenish Joshua Tree’s supplies. They have adopted the theme of “Just Because” as they feel that there does not have to a reason to be of service to the community.

The Joshua Tree Feeding Program was started in 1988 to provide a safe environment where people living with HIV/ AIDS could come together to share experiences, good food and mutual support. Joshua Tree is an all-volunteer organization that depends on the generosity of fine people and other organizations who donate their time, food and money.

As HIV/AIDS becomes an even larger and more desperate problem in our lives, they fear that without support the needs of their many clients will outgrow our resources. Joshua Tree very much needs contributions of food and financial assistance. Only one-third of their budget comes from Federal Funds.

There will be a kick-off party at the Bunkhouse at 2pm on Saturday, September 18th.
